The hip hinge is a classic move that gives us the ability to lower our upper body forward and down without rounding our back. It is a movement that we often find quite difficult because we have all got into the habit of rounding our backs instead. The hip hinge is an integral part of the squat and deadlift, movements where we are often picking up heavy loads and it helps to ensure we protect our backs in this situation.
